European Union Simulation

For our government systems unit we made an EU simulation. I chose to play as the Netherlands because it is my home country. We would try to persuade other countries to pass the law. I stuck to the opinion I was given. Eventually, (two hours later) five countries had decided to pass the law and 3 did not want to, and 3 wanted to control it themselves. So the law was passed and we "won" the argument.
I represented The Netherlands as a single person because there were not enough people for me to group up with. My allies were Germany and Finland. In the end I had Germany, Finland, Me, The UK, and Denmark all voting to pass the law.

I think that my participation level was 10/10 because I really enjoyed the experience and it was a one-of-a-kind simulation.
I think that my new learning was a 8/10 because I learned a lot about what it was really like and how it worked.
My enjoyment level was a 9/10 because I really loved the experience and I loved representing my home country.
The clarity level for me was a 10/10 because i new exactly what we where doing and I was ready for anything.

5R Assembly Reflection

5R Assembly Reflection For our assembly we focused on our unit, HWEO, and the central idea, change can occur when artists align themselves with issues and opportunities. I was part of the metal heads as a headbanger. It was really fun just getting to crazy in front of almost 300 people. I also made a teensy weensy little mistake when I was saying my lines in front of everyone, I thought that is was really embarrassing, but I was reassured by my parents that I was fine. PMI Chart P: Positives M: Minuses I: Ideas P: I learned how to use my voice better in front of a large crowd. I also thought that the skits where all great, and the way we presented our unit was great as well, I also thought that the slide show we used was great, and my parents were there. M: I learned that certain skits need more practice than others, for example, the Banksy skit could have used some more practice, but it was still absolutely awesome. Identity Poem

At the start of the year, as part of our Who We Are unit, we were thinking about identity. Here is a poem I wrote to share some aspects of my identity. I am Vincent. I wonder what created the universe and beyond. I hear my grandmother talking about us in Belgium. I see my mom working hard to sustain our family. I want to see everything the world has to offer. I am Vincent. I pretend to be okay when i need somebody. I feel happy when I am with the right people. I touch the mouse of the laptop when I play video games.
